Welcome to Serendipity Spa! One of my life long dreams is to own and operate my own business and I’m excited and happy to realize that dream come true. Melissa Poley

Owner, Clincal Aesthetician

My dream began while attending and graduating from Grandview College and the Professional Cosmetology Institute’s aesthetics program. I also worked for a cosmetic line receiving training in makeup application, skin care, and business/client relation techniques. My passion for skin care continued working for several of Des Moines’ leading Plastic Surgeons. My experience starting in 1999 has helped me develop a true love of making people feel good about themselves and to find a confidence in the way they look. Most important is to match customized skin care regimens to skin types and specific conditions with advanced technologies along with professional products to achieve best results. I like to see confidence restored as clients proceed in their journey to healthy living and feel qualified to give advice as well as referrals to those in need.

My other lifelong dream is to have a family balance and that realization has more than been met with my two wonderful, active sons, Landon and Stone and my husband John. John and I lead a very active life style just keeping up, but we also work on mind, spirit and body activities. I feel confident in personally representing what my business philosophy is all about.

Melissa’s beauty secret? “Use SPF daily; always incorporate antioxidants and retinols into your skincare regimen; wear a mineral makeup for a flawless finish; and don’t forget to do something daily for YOU (take a nap, exercise, spend time with your friends, and make scheduling a spa appointment a priority!)”

I have always had a passion in doing my job to the best of my ability and delivering quality service to every client I encounter. When working for other employers, I always found myself wanting more. I felt as though I needed a career where I could represent myself as an individual and continue to grow. I recognized my strengths as being creative, meticulous, and passionate, so I decided to attend the nail technology program at LJIC.

I never imagined I would go back to school as I am a busy mother of 3 beautiful children, Vondre, Kamari, and Taliyah. I love to travel and longed for a career where I could balance taking care of myself and my clients. While attending the program, I fell in love with so much more than just doing nails.

Your nails are one of the most important accessories you have, and keeping them healthy and beautiful is important for your overall self representation. Whether it be long, artistic designs, or short well manicured nails, they allow us to express who we are. My top priorities are to offer a clean, relaxed, and positive environment. I want my clients to leave my salon feeling as though all of their needs were well taken care of.

Spa appointments must be reserved with a credit card number, or the number on a gift card, if applicable. Your credit card will not be charged prior to your arrival.

Your credit card will only be charged if you fail to arrive for your spa services without cancelling 24 hours prior. You will be charged 40% of your service(s) cost for any late cancellation or no-show appointments.
